Studio Session Prep Guide
A newborn session prep guide to a stress-free studio posed newborn photography session, including what to wear and what to bring. My studio is located conveniently near Downtown Cumberland, in the Olde Cumberland House at 120 Valley Street, and I have a parking lot for my clients.
- Be prepared to spend 2-3 hours in my studio.
- If you can, try to keep your baby awake for 2-3 hours prior by giving them a bath, interacting with them, and feeding just before you leave your home. This little bit of prep really can make a difference to your session, specially if the baby arrives nice and sleepy.
- Try to dress baby in a loose sleeper. Avoid tight socks or outfits to avoid lines on their skin.
- If you are using or considering using a pacifier, please bring it along. If not, no worries!
- All props and outfits for the session will be provided.
- You’ll be provided time to give your baby a full feeding before we begin. A full baby means a sleepy baby, and we need a very sleepy baby for those sweet poses.
- It will be hot. I’ll keep it warm for baby, so please dress accordingly.

CHECK LIST
- Diapers and wipes
- Milk (either bottle or breastfed is perfectly fine!)
- Pacifier (optional!)
- A cozy baby blanket
